SGT Jordan M Shay Memorial Foundation

Supporting Amesbury school students and veterans

The SGT Jordan M. Shay Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that honors the last wish of SGT Jordan M. Shay. Jordan was raised in Amesbury and graduated from Amesbury High School in 2005. Jordan enlisted in the US Army the following year. He lost his life in Iraq during his second deployment. In a “just in case letter”,  he clearly stated that if something should happen to him that a scholarship fund be started in his name for students who “want to make a difference in the world”.

After Jordan’s death, we partnered with the Amesbury Educational Foundation, Inc. to honor his wish.
In 2017, we decided to expand and grow Jordan’s wish and become an independent non-profit that will allow us to help not only the Amesbury school system, but local Veterans  in Amesbury, Newburyport, Salisbury, West Newbury and Merrimac as well.

As of this year we have awarded over $229,000  in innovative grants for teachers and scholarships to graduating Amesbury students. In addition, we have contributed to Veterans and community organizations who need assistance.

We continue to be grateful for the generosity and support we have received from Amesbury and the surrounding communities. You continue to comfort and inspire us. You have helped us to build an amazing and long lasting legacy for Jordan.

Thank you!
